WE HEART J.W. ANDERSON EMBROIDERED TEE!

Classic, richly detail, white t-shirt from the J.W. Anderson F/W '010 collection gets our hearts uprising! The 100% cotton is not what's getting us oversweet; of course it's the heart-shaped tassel embroidery getting us charged.

I can see you now: Chocolate color suit, J.W. Anderson heart tee, and delightful suede steppers parading the town. OK, maybe that's Mr. MSR's styling pick. =)

However you style it, the top is full of love + character.

CLOTHES DON'T MAKE LEBRON. PERSONALITY DOES!

Cover Shot

LeBron publicity continues. This time cover modeling on ritzy GQ. Swanking up a tasteful three-piece cashmere suit (Ralph Lauren), the mega athlete took full control affront compadre Ben Watts's camera.

Many of the fashion looks, not to my surprise, were James' fall chosen pieces. It's a wonder why he chose team Miami.

LBJ delivers the heat in GQ's September issue!

EYE(MAZING) SUMMER.

While everyone and their kin decided to jam pack the Ray-Ban train, I’m perched—summer novel in tow—awaiting the illesteva train.

Italy-manufactured New York-based, illesteva, came honking in with a debut collection of eye-swooning specs. Boasting photocromic lenses (lenses that darken on exposure to ultraviolet rays) and premium materials (titanium, bamboo, acetate), we have a simple sunglass win for the season.

What more can you ask for…

A. MCQUEEN: THE GOOD DIE YOUNG

Over the weekend I tuned up Dion Dimucci's "Abraham Martin and John" as Smokey Robinson smoothly renditioned the song. Overall the lyrics speaks on "great men we lost." As the track went along I fixed my thoughts on Sir Alexander McQueen.

During the world wind of New York Fashion Week news quickly ricocheted of the untimely death of design powerhouse Alexander McQueen. It wasn't a secret, McQueen dealt with dark emotions and angst oftentimes coupled with instant fame. The issues however massive, never seem to interfere with Alex's hit-after-hit seasonal designs!

Since his sudden death, supermodel Naomi Campbell have debut Alexander's Spring pieces for her runway shows to benefit Haiti. Although I'll miss his energetic collections I am pleased the Gucci Group will continue his design legacy moving forward.

Rest In Perfect Peace Alex.

MSR: FAVORITE HOLIDAY THINGS !!!

We've been away for sometime but we're reappearing with Holiday top-picks + buy-its!

Since Fall, MSR was receiving heaps of remarkable holiday goodies to review--ranging from grooming to accessories. Knowing the smart + clued-in men (and some ladies) you are I tapered down the top 4 gift-giving gifts.

PRADA OXFORD

A sexy laceup always set the wardrobe tone.

PRADA unleashed a rich goatskin leather shoe with a prominent cap toe stitching. Easy adaptable for jean-wearing or suit-lacing guys, the shoes' seamless versatility sells itself. A leather chocolate hue lining, cushion-padded insole, rubber sole only highlights why Italians always win where shoes are concerned!

GUCCI APP for iPhone

My overt fascination for "apps" would almost require me to have an iPhone right? Well, on contrary, I just can't wiggle free from Palm Treo's. On an appointment (In October) at Gucci's traveling sneaker pop-up shop in NYC I met GUCCI APP face-to-face. Boy was it a long interaction...

In short, GUCCI APP is a mobile intersection of fashion, music and the Gucci lifestyle for iPhone and iPod touch. The app synthesizes the worlds of fashion, technology and music offering access to exclusive Gucci products, unique playlists, videos, fashion shows, news, events, latest collections, store listings and the ability to mix your own music.

GUCCI APP is now available on APP store at Apple.com.

Electro ROCK GUITAR Tee

For all the Guitar Hero, Band Hero, and interactive gaming diehards I welcome you the next best thing: Electro ROCK GUITAR Tee! My favorite quirky web haunt (thanks to a particular NY TIMES Magazine staffer) ThinkGeek.com is the brainchild behind the attention-getting fashion invention.

According to ThinkGeek.com "The Electronic Guitar Shirt is not a toy that plays pre-canned musical riffs, it is a real musical instrument that allows you to play your favorite songs and sound great doing it. All major chords are recorded from a real electric guitar, and the included magnetic pick allows you to strum just like you would a real guitar."

Marc by Marc Jacobs Motorcycle Jacket

My two girls over at Gilt Groupe.com sent a whisper (which went viral to the masses afterward-lol) about the Astral Blue wool jacket you see shimmering below! The jacket softly echoes: "Cool Guy". And, Swaggeriffic too! The long sleeve wool side-zip motorcycle jacket, notch lapel with snap closures, front zip+ snap pockets with front non-functional pockets is loads of detailing a Gent can appreciate!

STYLE CAPTURED IN THE DETAILS.

Like clockwork, I tear through my favorite Art or Men’s-interest magazines and zoom straight to the style section and/or features. Strong and executed fashion stories gets Mr. MSR wedged deep, forgetting about everything else around.

The formula which gives fashion stories timeless or brilliant marks is editor’s or stylists’ keen attention to “style with details.” Simply put, these professionals allow the little elements—detail buttons, colors, hardware, accessories—to define image and subject.

The modish Gents at ‘FineAndDandyShop.com’ sent over some of their lookbook images shot by photographer Patrick Roxas. Let’s just say…I was wedged to my laptop screen for a lil’ while.

Notice how clear and lucid style + details transfer in the following images.

SHIRT GALORE: FRESH+ FIT FOR FALL!!

The rebel chap I was, forever anticipated back-to-school clothes shopping! Besides leaves changing hues, Fall meant snatching the flyest, sharpest, and chicest designer duds Mom’s budget could manage. Fast forward to now. With school and new teacher anxieties out the window I still cultivate passion + fervor for new Fall wardrobe indulges.

On my focused radar this season weren’t relaxed wool charcoal-mix harem pants, asymmetrical motorcycle bombers, shin-high wingtip leather boots or shawl-collar chunky-embrace knits. Instead I killed for: distinct euro-fitting wovens.

GQ’s recent issue flashed off Twilight star Taylor Lautner radiating Fall’s best and super-crisp long sleeve tops—from D&G to Banana Republic!

Editor Note: A crisp, pressed shirt often elevates any getup—sharp dressing or relaxed-casual.

ALEXANDER MCQUEEN + PUMA IN THE SAME SENTENCE?

Absolutely correcto! Avant-garde crafter Alexander McQueen is (and have been, for some time now) shooting collaborative efforts with sportswear label PUMA. From the onset, Mr. MSR wondered how this relationship came into action? However, the relationship is sprouting healthy, stylish, pieces! The design marriage birthed attention-getting collection images (pictured below) .

Mr. MSR is truthfully feeling every scope of the collection!

TOP-PICK FALL MUST-HAVES!

A dynamic Fall look !

Like me, many of you arose to the official first day of Fall earlier. Even as a innocent (at least in my elders' eyes) chap I enjoyed watching autumnal transitions: The leaf color changes + crisp air breezes. Besides prepping Fall-appropraite outerwear, Mr. MSR plans to include these stellar picks in the Fall budget. What I admire about each selection, is their easy transitioning over into winter months.

GAP "1969" Premium Jean

For Fall, Gap's marketing force, outpoured aggressively "Born to Fit" branding to the brand's iconic 1969 jean. I was smitten! After eyeing over a drop-down advertisement insert (showcasing all 1969 new jean fits) I felt like yanking the classic-blue wash off the male model. The "Authentic" style (pictured below) is my top favorite. It offers a broken-in-feel + mild sloppy rips + vintage distress treatments .

It's the perfect jean fit! Why? It sits just below the waist. It offers a slim [non-restricting] fit down and seals off with a straight leg opening. I think I have found my new--possibly all time--favorite denim!

Shofolk "Artie Mo" Shoe

I just love a shoe with subtle standouts! Busy shoes just don't work in my book. Shofolk clearly traveled with a-less-is-more approach for the Artie Mo shoe. The bitter chocolate hue sent me in a frenzy!! But the calm design statements--stitch detail on the toe cap and a white leather tape loop on the back heel--convinced a proud purchasing decision.

Louis Vuitton Macassar Carrier

Sharp. Distinct. Straight bad-a**! Perfect fitting for a bundle of great reads or daily essentials, the new Maccasar monogrammed carrier scream function + taste. Plus, the unique marriage between brown and black fleshes great I found.

Speaking of design process, LV produced a broad selection of delicious Macassar accessories (weekender bag, shopper, attache, merse, overnight grip handle (ala Hermes) ) targeting strictly the Louis Vuitton male consumer. Kudos LV!

Tom Ford's Grey Vetiver Cologne

Since chatting up Tom Ford's 'Black Orchid,' many of you--faithful readers + viewers--wrote in to say how 'in awe' you were by the rich scents blended within the ridge-textured bottle. Well, time to gear up your "awe" emotions! Tom Ford excited havoc for a second go-around. Call it second-time charm if you want, but Tom's Grey Vetiver took the cake for Fall premiere fragrance for men!

In similar bottle architecture to 'Black Orchind', the silvery glass structure is packing all the right notes. Very airy + light on the garment, Vetiver still unpacks a masculine scent-noticeable essence.

Tom Ford comments, " Vetiver immediately evokes for me the classic man, someone who has a confident, refined, and slightly traditional senses of what it means to be a man--an elegance that is mirrored in Tom Ford clothing." I will have to second that Tom!

The SARTORIALIST by Scott Schuman

Since his inaugural blog post to current, Mr. MSR have been in tandem with all-things The Sartorialist --from gallery exhibitions to featuring Scott's epic street captures here on MSR . (He produced a pleasant spread on the Fort Greene neighborhood Mr. MSR resides in, highlighting well-dressed neighbors I call friends for GQ's August issue.)

A neat anti-tome, Schuman's pumped up an addictive page-turner of fresh faces (youthful + seasoned) clad in killer fashions in street environments across the globe. It's my new coffee table fixture. And hopefully yours, next!
