LENS: THIS WEEK IN STYLE

Dealing with long lines, show seating confusion, PR tangle and wrangles, are just some of the added Fashion Week accompaniments day-in-day-out. To offset the negative, I took refuge in scores of freshly minted dressers that mixed out on the scene.

Relaxed. Comfy. Layering. Seamless...

Just a few expressions Mr. MSR seen on male show attendees. Fashion players in duckling boots and navajo jackets with clever beanie hats and Levis 501's was satisfying to the eye.

BRIAN WOOD: ULTRA-HIP SPORTSWEAR DESIGNER

Months back, cozying out during a friend's rent party, a sleek figure bolted across flashing a jet-black tailored trenchcoat boasting cut-out ventilation. I focused every effort next, to discover the inventive fingerprints behind the outerwear. The answer back: "Hi, I'm Brian, I designed this jacket last season." A interest in designer "Brian Wood" matured immediately. I find fashion adopters (including Mr. MSR) are lapping up Pratt Institute grad Brian Wood's trendsetting creations.

I present you Brian Wood Fall/Winter '09 menswear collection. Entitled Night Stalkers, the collection promotes stark blacks, steel grays, warm off-whites, and other interesting color treatments. (Certain oxford cuffs in the collection boast stylized blood splattering.) Night Stalkers gives wearers edginess all while being sharp and neat-looking. Our favorite standouts: Rugged asymmetrical motorcycle bombers; dark denim duffel coats; comfy cashmere knits emblazon "B" logos, and water-repellent outerwear with adjoining face masks.

Style on Wheels!

I'm not sure when relishes for Dandies cruising on cycles arose but its visual sight every time brews my creative juices. (I believe my first GQ-styled spread I execute will be a cyclist summer feature.) A lot of my colleagues have been doing what I called " Cycling Stylin'." Dashing from home to boardroom, these cruise style crushers are habitually flushing out attractive summer assortments.

This summer season I'm note-taking scores of lightweight cotton and breathable linen suitings; crisp unbuttoned bold oxfords; well-kept summer footwear (boat shoes, canvas skippies, leather mandals (man sandals), driver loafers, premium trainers, etc.). So, be advised if I come over to you on the pavement with the digi cam it's because you're serving a well-likable inspired look.

A generous amount of Cycle Stylers on my radar.

LENS: THIS WEEK IN STYLE

Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush traveled a might long way to execute the mastery you witness radiating above. Both decked in deep blue fitted selections, the couple equally compliments one another. Keep up the great work!

Beyonce glittered NYC streets in a shape-accentuating jeweled frock last week. Of course she caused mayhem. The backdrop style players however oozed mucho style boldness. A big Peace greeting to her subject who Mr. MSR calls brethren.

When I saw this shot I shrieked, "It's about time Nick! Show the masses you can lace on a sharp suit and command respect!" And top it off with glossy curve-toe shoes to boot.

The first shot of Amber Rose and Kanye West that made me pause, analyze, and commend. Amber's neon green motorcycle jacket and Kanye's rose pink cardigan are staples for the pair's sidewalk flair.

Speaking of sidewalk flair, Gossip Girls' cast mate lovers strolled with their white pooch all while cornerning a hipster-esque style appeal. PS: Does anyone know the maker of Ed Westick two-tone awesome olive boots?

What more can I say other than that the girl has swagger-a-million!

TEKAY STRIKES THE SHOOT BUTTON AGAIN

Here at MSR, we’ve made numerous mentions of superstar street/lifestyle photg Tekay. Her lens capturing is award-winning if you ask me. (Side note: The picture of Mr. MSR in top-right section is TeKay doings.) For a follow-up series, Tekay captured a range of images penetrating average style-laden individuals on the city streets. Reviewing the fashions of the subjects, to utter average is an understatement. From the heavy batch of shots, I compiled my favorites of what I was able to extract from a stubborn PDF file (laughs!).

I love the colors and their detailed spacing!

Speak of Mr. Diddy, check his design BF out, Zac Posen sport the semi-scruff.

This shot of designer Dao-Yi Chow seems as if he stepped out of a venerable Men's Fashion publication.

The glossy Balenciaga's on his feet are simply, stellar.

Bruce, Bruce! I see you bro; he's really channeling Tom Ford slightly with this number.

NYC: MEATPACKING DISTRICT

Viola!! The new-and-improved Meatpacking. Revitalization has swarmed the neighborhood!

Soho House. Gansevoort Hotel. Tracy Reeese. Alexander McQueen. Dianne Von Furstenberg. Jefferey’s. All these titles are instantly, better yet, automatically mirrored with the present Meatpacking District. The ultra-hip cobblestone neighborhood has quickly risen to the forefront boasting the best shops and boutiques NYC’s ever witness. The area use to reek due to the extensive meat slaughtering houses, hence the current name. Today, the stench has evaporated to welcome refreshing smells of high-fashion and sauntering style players.

On a recent merchandise sight seeing tour, I bumped into Scott Schuman on set shooting a fashionable subject. You see the blog of his wicked capturing but to see it on-hand it’s priceless. Picture it: Scott Schuman dressed spring-appropriately surrounding by pools of garbage (literally) shooting this statuesque Asian woman—who was gorgeously striking. As she posed on cue, his lens flickered in the same tune. Another great highlight, his props were so naturale (Italian for natural). Taxi cabs, car commuters and pedestrians were the shoot’s backdrop. I will definitely post the shot when Scott gets it up on Sartorialist.

Excuse the major sway from the post, but I had to give a visual with that one. I spent some time in SCOOP. I toured the very intimate men’s selections and came across just a few items I think were cool. First, I grabbed up these luxe white YMC (British designer) sneakers that were perfect for the summer hit. Picture Jack Purcell Converse’s with more minimalism.

After ingesting YMC’s simple design construction, I walked over to take in their Vilebrequin swimmies neatly hanged on hooks. The styles were blahh...nothing serious. Overall, visit the shop (men’s) if you just need some high-end casual getups. Or if you’re a book junkie or art lover like Mr. MSR, walk next door to their lifestyle concept shop.

You always save the best for last! Jefferey baby! As you enter you’ll immediately grasp the clothing store’s cutting-edge atmosphere. Jeffrey Kalinsky (founder) to this day is a major buyer for both his NY and Atlanta stores. Most times when in Jeffery’s, I’m always in proximity to the Men’s ultra-trendy shoe department! It’s an experience in itself!! On this day, I was salivating helplessly over Bottega’s woven Vans-inspires sneaks; Lanvin’s partial patent cap toe shoes; Dior Homme two-colored three-strap tennis shoes and many more brands (Barker Black suede royal-esque slip-on was nice!) that I could spend my bonus and tax returns on in a whim.

Pt. II: Kudos to the wardrobe person on this show! The perfectly tie knot (bold, huh!) and contrasting pocket square (solid black) is stylishly gangsta!

The complimenting couple I call them. Both style-savvy in their own respects. This retro shot was taken in front of La Esquina (underground scenic restaurant) in NYC.

Their combined styling is no joke! My only flaw is the Gent's distressed Gray shoes. I understand your intention, but wearing black shoes would've been more fitting for your knotch lapel suit. It seems way too uniformed with Gray shoes
