CPDRC: PRISON DANCE STARS

The largest dance troupe I ever seen.

I’m such a fanatical for ‘CPDRC Prison Dancers’ (and 5 million others)! I heard about these dancers from a show segment and I’ve been part of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center fan club ever since.

According to CPDRC website, “Security must be approached not only physically but also from the cultural and behavioral context. Inmates at the CPDRC are required to go through a workout regimen. While the goal is to keep the body fit in order to keep the mind fit, such may not actually happen if it is not done in a manner deemed pleasurable. Music, being the language of the soul, is added to that regimen.”

Their most famous publicized dance choreography is M.J.’s Thriller. CNN and many other televised broadcasts ran pieces on CPDRC; highlighting their amazing dance-routines.

I wonder if U.S. prison inmates would be up to having a dance off!
